Junior Club
Club Junior Members line up on the Shooting line for first taste of Clout Archery.
The
Club
actively
supports
and
encourages
Archery
for
the
Under
21s
and
because
of
that
have
been
able
to
established
a
separate
Club
for
the
Juniors
ever
since
the
club was formed back in 1974.
The Junior Club is one of the most successful ones within not only Cheshire but also in the Region.
The
Junior
Club
meets
outside
on
Saturday
mornings
throughout
the
year,
but
over
the
Winter
months
the
club
hires
School
Hall
at
Quinta
Primary
School
in
Congleton
to
shoot Indoors on Saturday mornings.
When the Junior Club meets, Coaching is provided and several Club Competitions are run to encourage the Juniors to shoot in a friendly and competitive environment.
At the same time they are also encouraged to join in the other numerous club activities and competitions.
The Club has elected Avril Bourke as the Junior Representative and Welfare Officer to provide valuable input to the Club Committee and help run the Club.
Avril,
who
is
a
very
experienced
Archer,
who
has
been
shooting
for
more
years
than
she
cares
to
remember
has
wealth
of
experience
and
knowledge
to
help
the
Junior
members of the club to get the best out of the sport.
Avril
is
a
Level
2
coach
and
is
assisted
by
two
further
Level
2
coaches
Martin
Bourke
and
John
Lewis
and
a
Level
1
Coach,
Amy
Lewis
who
together
bring
many
years
of
experience
of
coaching
Juniors.
All
Coaches
have
all
been
DBS
checked
and
have
attended
Child
Protection
Awareness
Courses
as
part
of
their
Coach
Licence.
All
these
Coaches have to have their Licences and DBS renewed every 3 years..
